    John C. McCullough, Partner

    John C. McCullough is a founding partner of McCullough Stievater & Polvere, LLP and represents corporate and business interests in the acquisition, development and financing of commercial developments, subsidized housing projects and health care institutions. He represents owners and developers of nursing homes and long-term care facilities and is experienced with conventional, HUD-insured and MDFA-financed bond projects. Mr. McCullough's practice also focuses on litigation regarding construction and environmental issues. Mr. McCullough is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Boston College Law School. He served for five years as Director of the Youth Program at the John F. Kennedy Family Service Center in Charlestown and is a past President of the Massachusetts Special Olympics. Mr. McCullough is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Health Law Section and holds a Commonwealth of Massachusetts unrestricted construction supervisor license.

    In Memory of Willard J. Stievater, Partner
    Bill Stievater, a founding partner of the firm, passed away on July 22, 2004, while rowing on the Charles River.

    Mr. Stievater graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., and Boston College Law School. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

    His practice areas included real estate law, landlord tenant. Mr. Stievater was appointed by the Land Court as Certified Title Examiner. An area of specialization for him was housing cooperatives, which provide lower income individuals an opportunity to become homeowners. He was very active in groups which advocated for housing cooperatives and in 2003 was named Association Professional of the Year by the Community Association Institute. He also participated in many civic and charitable activities, serving as president of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America and president and board member of the Charlestown Business Association for many years.

    Mr. Stievater's practice areas have been continued by other members of the firm.

    Daniel M. Polvere is a founding partner of McCullough Stievater & Polvere, LLP and heads the Property Management Group. He has a broad practice in real estate, including conveyancing, landlord-tenant and condominium areas. He also practices estate planning and closely held business counseling and formation. Mr. Polvere was among the first attorneys to appear in the Boston Housing Court at its inception while he was legal counsel for Boston's Rent Equity Board. Mr. Polvere has taught landlord-tenant law at Suffolk University, Boston. He is a founding member of the Attorneys Committee of CAI (Community Associations Institute), and later served as Chairman. He teaches and lectures regularly to attorneys, property managers, trustees, investors and laypersons through professional organizations, adult education programs and Bar Associations. Mr. Polvere graduated from Boston College and Georgetown University Law School. He also holds an advanced degree from New York University.

    Kevin M. Walsh

    Kevin M. Walsh is a senior associate with the firm. He concentrates his practice in landlord-tenant law and general civil litigation involving areas such as contracts, personal injury and insurance defense matters. Particularly well known for his landlord-tenant law expertise, he has tried hundreds of summary process cases for large property management companies in various district and housing courts throughout Massachusetts. He has also represented property managers in a variety of other issues involving discrimination claims, sanitary code violation problems and contract claims. Mr. Walsh has lectured and published articles on many landlord-tenant topics. He is active in the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and charitable organizations involving his local parish, Notre Dame alumni matters and a spina bifida support group. He coaches youth sports and is an officer in the South Shore Camera Club. In practice since 1982, Mr. Walsh earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Notre Dame. He is a serious amateur photographer and has published numerous articles and photographs.

    Mark P. Daly is an associate with the firm and practices in the areas of Business Law, Business Formation, Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law, Civil Litigation, and Health Care Facilities Law. Mr. Daly earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Suffolk University. He is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and Connecticut and is a member of the Massachusetts and Connecticut Bar Associations.

    Susan M. Blum is an associate with the firm and practices in the areas of land-tenant law, condominium law and general real estate law. She was the head of the real estate department at her previous firm and represented buyers, sellers and lenders in hundreds of real estate transactions. Her representation of landlords includes residential and commercial leasing, evictions, collections, tax deferred exchanges, condominium conversions, discrimination and bankruptcy matters. She also has extensive litigation and trial experience.

    She is an active member of the Real Estate Bar Association, a Medway Cooperative Bank Advisory Board Member, an Ashland Youth Lacrosse Board Member, and a Title Insurance Agent for a major title insurance company.

    Ms. Blum is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University law School and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and New York.

    Bill McCarthy is Of Counsel to the firm. Previously he practiced in Boston where he represented clients in estate, financial and real estate matters. He is also the former President and CEO of The Cooperative Bank with offices in Charlestown, Roslindale and West Roxbury.

    b Mr. McCarthy served as the Chairman of the Community Bank League of New England and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Charlestown Business Association and U.S.S. Massachusetts Museum. He is a graduate of Holy Cross College and Suffolk University Law School. He served in Vietnam with the Navy Seabees and retired as a Captain in the Navy Supply Corps.

    Mr. McCarthy concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, real estate and bank regulation law.
