
New Associate Susan Blum joins the firm.
Susan M. Blum is an associate with the firm and practices in the areas of land-tenant law, condominium law and general real estate law. She was the head of the real estate department at her previous firm and represented buyers, sellers and lenders in hundreds of real estate transactions. Her representation of landlords includes residential and commercial leasing, evictions, collections, tax deferred exchanges, condominium conversions, discrimination and bankruptcy matters. She also has extensive litigation and trial experience.
She is an active member of the Real Estate Bar Association, a Medway Cooperative Bank Advisory Board Member, an Ashland Youth Lacrosse Board Member, and a Title Insurance Agent for a major title insurance company.
Ms. Blum is a graduate of Boston College and Suffolk University law School and is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and New York.
John McCullough, founding partner, was recently awarded the Celtic Cross for his
work with Massachusetts Special Olympics.
The Celtic Cross Society was founded in 1996 by Fr. Robert Doherty, currently the Pastor at Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Revere and Spiritual Director of the Society. The Celtic Cross is awarded annually to individuals for their courage, faith,
and simplicity of life.
John has been active with Massachusetts Special Olympics (MSO), serving on its Board of Directors since its formative years and continues to be a factor in the success and status that MSO enjoys today. In 1989 he was elected President and Chairman, serving in that capacity for two years. He is responsible for designing the original organizational structure which is still in place today and for setting up the volunteer screening program. In 1987 he was the Massachusetts head coach at the International Special Olympics games held at Notre Dame, Indiana. John currently sits on the Building Committee working to develop a Central Massachusetts Training and Administrative Center.
Special Olympics, Inc., was founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver to work with athletes with intellectual disabilities. The first International Special Olympics games were held in 1968 in Chicago's Soldier Field where 1,000 athletes from 26 states and Canada competed. Today Special Olympics is the largest amateur sports organization in the world with more than 223 Special Olympics programs in 161 countries with 2.25 million athletes. Massachusetts alone has more than 10,000 athletes, 14,000 volunteers and 180,000 supporters.
WREATH DECORATING CEREMONY HONORS WILLARD STIEVATER
On Saturday, December 2nd, 2006 the Charlestown Business Association sponsored The Annual Main Street and Bunker Hill Street Lightpole Decorations, kicking off with a ceremony at McCullough, Stievater and Polvere LLP on Main Street, dedicating a lightpole wreath at 121 Main Street to Willard Stievater, who started the tradition many years ago. It was attended by his many MSP and CBA colleagues.
